The Hughenden has been prized by many throughout the years as a home away from home. This historical building located in the heart of Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs has transformed since its formation year in 1870. Initially, the home to Dr. Frederick Harrison Quaife, renowned for introducing the first of x-ray technology to Australia, the hotel preserves its old-world grandeur through its refurbishment in 2017 to incorporate modern comforts. Walking into the Hughenden, you’re greeted with intricate architecture with rich local heritage. Your first impression will leave you speechless as this place has managed to stick to its roots and make you feel like you are walking back in time, from the high ceilings, chandeliers, a grand staircase, and its Victorian furnishing.
The boutique hotel welcomes a wide range of hotel guests from locals needing a night away to international travellers keen to experience authentic insight into Sydney. They are well taken care of by our staff who are always going above and beyond to make a lasting impression. Some of these pet-friendly rooms have a self-contained private courtyard that offers your four-legged best friend to walk around and go about their business
